Late last year the Danish Parliament approved a new ruling after their extension of the rules on tax free net wages for seafarers . The new ruling now includes certain specialized vessels and therefore has seafarer tax implications.
The extension of the seafarer tax scheme adopted by the Danish parliament, earlier in 2018 now applies to the crew on certain specialized vessels in the offshore sector. The new act allows for ship owners and Danish trade unions to enter into agreements that cover all seafarers on vessels primarily engaged in offshore activities in Danish waters regardless of the seafarer’s place of residence.
